In 1936, Universal Geneve launched its Compax chronograph, with the dial equipped with an innovative third chronometer sub-dial. The latter served to totalize the hours and minutes timed. Now, seventy three years later, this watchmaking house is pleased to unveil a sumptuous, yet simple interpretation of the famous Compax watch.
Ultra-modern and, at the same time, manufactured in harmony with the noblest traditions, the new Universal Geneve Compax chronograph watch features Cotes-de-Geneve bridges, rhodium-finished and delicately sand-blasted plates, hand chamfering, as well as a dial, embellished with the star of Copernicus, teamed with two alternating tones of anthracite.
Inside this progressive watch is a manually-wound movement – UG 84.2 calibre, studded with 17 rubies. It exposes a balance wheel that beats at the rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The movement offers a 42-hour power reserve.
This progressive Compax Limited Edition watch incorporates the following functions – hours, minutes, seconds and chronograph.
The watch comes in an 18K white gold case. It demonstrates an anti-reflective curved sapphire crystal on its front side, as well as a see-through case-back.
The anthracite dial of the chronograph watch is completed with rhodium-plated, diamond-polished, facetted hours and minutes hands. They are accompanied by a blued steel direct-drive centre seconds-hand. The dial is also equipped with hour, minute and small seconds sub-dials, positioned at 6, 3 and 9 o’clock correspondingly.
The Universal Geneve Compax chronograph watch is presented on a hand-stitched black genuine crocodile leather strap, finished with an exclusive 18K white gold buckle. It provides 50-meter water-resistance.
The Compax Limited Edition watch, is also featured with other case interpretations: pink gold, yellow gold and steel, issued as a limited series of 70, 20 and 190 pieces respectively.
